@AesTheFox It's just a theory, but the reason why the sprites are duplicated is because in the SMB1 gamestyle the coin used unique frames for both the "wait" animation, and the "collected" animation; it could just be a leftover for the pink coin in the other styles, even if it's the same frames for both animations for every gamestyle (sans SM3DW because of obvious reasons).

The smw fireball death sprite is used in smb1, and smb3.

That's weird... Why would they duplicate the sprites if it's the same thing? I mean, the 10/30/50 coins work like that...

@LBlueTheSpriter: The first four frames are the default "wait" animation, the last four are the "fast" variant after being collected. Likewise for the regular coin's animations.

why is there 2 animations for the pink coins
or is it an 8 frame animation

oh I kinda wish there were sprites because the thing I use to create sprites (RealWorld Cursor Editor) rotates sprites with transparency and stuff =/
Random Talking Bush
Jun 6, 2021, 6:47 PM
@LewisTehCat28: There are no unique sprites, the sprites are rotated in-engine.
LewisTehKat28

where do I find the rotations for the arrow? I'm pretty sure you can rotate it in game.

@LewisTehCat28: Tons of games use placeholder objects, even dating back to the NES and SNES era. It's not really that unusual.
LewisTehKat28
Apr 29, 2021, 3:21 PM
wait then what is the point of the sprite if it's immediately replaced?
Random Talking Bush
Apr 15, 2021, 8:31 PM
@LewisTehCat28: Those are the actual "object" sprites for them, though, in-game they are immediately swapped out with the ones seen on
the Tileset submission
.

@RTB: Oh yeah, I did the easter egg. It was a fun little thing.
Random Talking Bush
Jul 10, 2019, 2:11 PM
@TJ26: It's an easter egg that originated in the original Super Mario Maker. Just "knock" on a door a certain amount of times and he'll show up.
@TheBraveSackboy: Maybe? I didn't get
every
effect ripped, so... *shrug*
TJ26
Jul 10, 2019, 2:07 PM
Wait, why are there Weird Mario sprites?
TheBraveSackboy
Jul 9, 2019, 7:54 PM
Shouldn't there be a little .-'sparkle'-. effect for the coins when they're collected?
