I'm not a spriter but I was around in the MFZ days, I would frequent the site and admire the sprite work that Damien, Kajin and the other forum members did and stayed for the comics. I don't know why but I felt the need to google The MFZ again, to see if anything new comes up, and KAJIN brought it back! Everything is back up! And I just got hit with a wave of nostalgia...

Anyone else remember the "Genesis-style" Chao sprites? I loved them, they just....weren't Genesis-styled. I could tell that when I was in 4th grade and had only played Sonic Mega Collection Plus a little.

there were years of people saying any sonic sprite style that wasn't 8-bit or advance/battle style was genesis.
Part of alot of early spriters liking to sound like they knew what they were talking about while also fitting in with the older, more talented spriters who came before.
It was alot of "anything that isn't genesis is boring/lazy/only used for recolors" most people have grown out of it but there was alot of mob mentality around people using a certain style that lead to terms getting very confused. Similar stuff happened with dragonballs game boy styled sprites.

@Infinitygamer101 You mean the game that wouldn't be released until somewhere around 6-10 years after this sheet was made? These are based off of the CG cutscene that occurs when Chaos destroys the city in Sonic Adventure.

@Yoshubs All of Damien's Chaos things were realistic, as was his Biolizard. Tragically, MFZone is now down, and they apparently went with it. I remember their usage in the old InSONICnia sprite comic I read when I was younger.
