I just compared, and interestingly, the mushrooms in the background of Yossy's stage are not quite identical to the ones in the first stage of Little Nemo. They have all the same features in all the same places, but are narrower, which leads me to believe they were probably imperfectly copied rather than directly ripped.

Posting in case the previous person ever sees this:
I'd recommend a Leapster Explorer instead. It's way easier to hack and can run everything the Didj could (because it runs on mostly the same hardware but with more RAM). The Didj is an unstable mess and often self-bricks itself. They fixed the software stability issues on the Explorer.

@QueenPenguin never got to making sheets of characters introduced after Zimmi. MF1 uses the same sprites I believe - might look into ripping Sisihan Fighter (a precursor that strangely has an engine like MF2's instead of the clunky MF1 engine) since characters actually look different enough there
