@ValisEmma It actually varies from country to country, even channel to channel. I think Spain and Netherlands were a bit more lax while the UK and Germany were more strict (Italy depends whether your show was on RAI or Mediaset channels, one extreme example of the latter). The UK is still strict regarding Simpsons episodes on TV with Sky and Channel 4 are more cut than Disney+. Some countries did actually keep the Ninja Turtles name when it was first aired but Konami gave the Hero Turtles name regionwide for the games (probably to save doing all the different variations). All countries have used the TMNT name (or their localised name) since 2003 anyway...

Anyway my guess for the censorship probably might be do to with Germany at this point. As it's usually the case with games...

pretty sure europe hates violence, that's why the ninja turtles are called hero turtles over there
