The heads on level preview screen look like SMB2 ones due to the lack of black outline

Let's call this guy "Antonio."
Then "Wantonio" can fill in orange for the last color.
Might make some customs.

the unused sprites are supposed to have the smb2 palette as seen in several early screen shots, also pretty sure it's mentioned on tcrf.net

@BandanaDeeSprites as long as your game doesn't threaten official sales (from what I've heard) you should be perfectly fine

@anthings: I assume it's because the SMB1 sprites lack outlines and have a completely different look compared to the ones from SMB2 and SMB3. Judging from the unused sprites for this game, its likely that they tried to reshade the original sprites at one point but didn't like how they looked.

I am confused as of why they gave mario different sprites for SMB1 and SMB3, but the SMB1 sprites are based of of the SMB3 ones? Always confused me that they didn't base the SMB1 sprites off of SMB1, or have SMB1 and SMB3 have the same sprites

I think the unused sprites may have been used for an unused Mario Bros. (Battle Mode) minigame.
