@MegaToon1234 Only thing that I can think of is to do with marketing, there were quite a lot of puzzle games on the SNES in the JP market and probably felt that manufacturing the cartridges for the game wouldn't have paid off if it didn't sell. I don't know how well Yoshi's Cookie did in Japan but the sales results would have gave Nintendo an idea and why later puzzle games on the SNES were different (Mario's Super Picross, Mario & Wario, Panel de Pon to appeal more to the Puyo Puyo crowd but ended up being a Yoshi game outside of Japan yet in a short sighted way called it a Tetris game). It was different in the US/PAL regions where less work was needed to localise the game and an easier game to release (especially with the NES counterpart) plus some puzzle games weren't released outside of Japan. Also something for Nintendo to market as an alternative game to the heavy hitter Donkey Kong Country in the US for Christmas.

Marketing was also the reason why we have various JP only Mario spinoffs connected to companies e.g. All Night Nippon SMB, Return of Mario Bros., the Yoshi's Cookie game connected to Panasonic and THE REASON why Doki Doki Panic exists in the first place. Thinking about it maybe the deal with Bakushō Mondai was why Wario's Woods was broadcast on Satellaview in the first place and desperate to get an "exclusive". Something tells me that Wario's Woods was at least planned for the Super Famicom considering that the NES/Famicom was literally the end at this point...

Sometimes games get cancelled last minute just by manufacturing costs. It uses a battery making it more expensive to have in a SNES cartridge especially for a puzzle game. Strangely enough the US cartridge also matches Super Punch Out that also didn't get a Japanese release until the Nintendo Power service, since it was cheaper to make due to a later release the PAL version matches more games.

I really wonder why this version of Wario's Woods hasn't been released in Japan compared to its NES counterpart, aside from the Satellaview releases, of course.

@Doc von Schmeltwick
My question was if the similar character designs were because the developers recalled the character designs from this game (either from working on it or playing it themselves) or some miraculous coincidence that happened repeatedly in relation to this specific game. It's a purely speculative question, and dimentios resemblance is close enough to harley Q. for it to be possible for dimentio to have be either intentionally or subconsciously based on her.

@TwistedGear That wouldn't be revisiting this game. Harley Q. also looks very little like Dimentio beyond having a generic harlequin design. I'd say Nintendo bothers to remember either version of this game and their respective assortments of nobodies even less than the average person.

@Märck Pineda that's still two tatangas, regardless of which came first.

@LooneyTunerIan I will add the menus and the backgrounds tomorrow.

Some sheets are pending. But everything won't be there.

So does nintendo frequently revisit this game for character design ideas or did thay litterally create Tatanga and Dimentio twice?
Tad rock even looks like Oiram Repus from the G&W Ballon Fight game.
